The Association for Child Psychoanalysis

Membership Process

The ACP  has traditionally been an organization of psychoanalytic clinicians.  We also welcome colleagues whose psychoanalytic activities have been in fields of research, academia, or the foundation of psychoanalytic institutions.   Membership in the ACP, for either Candidate or Regular membership, requires sponsorship by two current ACP  Regular Members.

Membership Application Forms for sponsors are available from the ACP office or here on the website.

Steps to becoming a member:

1. Sponsors should send the completed forms and a letter of support to the ACP  office.

2. The material will be reviewed by the Membership Committee.

3. With the membership committee's approval, the membership request is then circulated to the

ACP  membership for a six-week comment period.

4. If no objections to the membership request are received, the prospective member will be

formally invited to join the Association.
